Southeast Asia in 51 Panels: The 5th SEASIA Conference in UP Diliman

The public is welcome to attend the 5th Southeast Asian Studies in Asia (SEASIA) Conference, which will be held from 18-20 July 2024 at the Asian Center and at the School of Economics, both at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Registration fees apply  but seating is first-come, first-served. Online registration will close on 16 July 2024, while onsite registration will close on 18 July 2024.

Plenary Roundtable: De/Centering Southeast Asian Studies and the Search for Relevance

The roundtable will be held on 20 July 2024, 3:00 pm, UP School of Economics Auditorium. The speakers are:

Film Festival and Special Screening

The conference will also have a film festival on 19 July showcasing six (6) short films. View films and get synopses of each.

There also will be a special screening of Karatuan: Kudyapiq sa Lumang Maguindanao (Karatuan: Kudyapiq of Old Maguindanao) by Dr. Jose Buenconsejo on 19 July 2024, 5:30pm, Asian Center GT-Toyota Auditorium.

The Southeast Asian Studies in Asia Conference is organized by the Consortium for Southeast Asian Studies, which is composed of different academic institutions offering Southeast Asian Studies programs. This year marks the 5th iteration of the conference, which is hosted by Asian Center, University of the Philippines, a founding member of the consortium.
