Job Opportunity @ UP CIDS: Senior Research Associate (Critical Futures Studies Program)

The Critical Futures Studies Program, Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS) is seeking one (1) Senior Research Associate, with a monthly rate of PhP 42,520.8 (gross and inclusive of premium). Application deadline is 27 January 2025, 11:59 pm.

Overview

The SRA will be working in the Critical Futures Studies Program, which will examine urgent issues facing the nation in a tdechnologically-driven but environmentally challenged world.  It will seek to enhance the competence of Filipinos, as individual and collective actors, to use digital technology to achieve inclusive and sustainable development.

The CFSP will undertake research on vital national and global concerns; foster dialogue among stakeholders; develop policy recommendations and project designs; build capacities that will hasten the pace of inclusive and sustainable national development.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Convenor, Project Leaders, and/or fellow in conducting research, tasks that may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Prepare for and conduct field and/or desk research
  • Organize events, meetings, forums, RTDs, and/or conferences
  • Communicate with UP CIDS administrative and publications staff, project and program stakeholders vis-a-vis the Program’s events and activities
  • Draft reports, letters, minutes, and other communications of the Program/Project
  • Write at least one (1) proceedings of any public-facing event
  • Perform other research- and publications-related tasks that may be assigned by the Program Convenor and/or the Project Leader

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree units in any of the following: Social Sciences, Technology Management; Political Science, Education, Communications Research, IT or related field.
  • One (1) year of relevant experience;
  • Excellent writing and communications skill
  • Proficient in (digital) office productivity tools;
  • Knowledge in the use of AI tools for research, project management, and presentations;
  • Self-starter (Has the initiative to start and complete tasks);
  • Competent in data analytics (including tools);
  • Effective team player;
  • Able to facilitate multi- and trans-disciplinary collaborations and/or co-creation activities;
  • At least four (4) years of relevant training
