Semiconductor Industry Development in Taiwan and the Philippines: Comparative Insights for the Global South
The UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS) presents an online forum on “Semiconductor Industry Development in Taiwan and the Philippines: Comparative Insights for the Global South,” a UP CIDS Discussion Paper published under the Political Economy Program (PEP), happening from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Friday, 25 September 2026 online via Zoom.
The forum will feature a presentation by authors Lianne Angelico C. Depante and Kirsten Lianne Mae C. Dedase, followed by a discussion moderated by Mr. Honey B. Tabiola of PEP.
Against the backdrop of the Philippines’ evolving role in the global semiconductor industry, the event seeks to facilitate dialogue among UP faculty, students, researchers, and the broader public, while providing a platform for exchanging perspectives on the paper’s findings and their implications for the country’s current and future semiconductor industry.
