A Workshop on the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act of 2001 (RA9147) and the Nagoya Protocol

Then and now, a great number of researches of the faculty and REPS of the University of the Philippines deal with our biological diversity.  Such researches are covered by Republic Act 9147 otherwise known as the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act of 2001 as well as guidelines ensuing from this act.  Most researchers however are not clear about the implications on their research of provisions of the Act and the other pertinent guidelines.  Thus, UP CIDS is organizing a workshop to bring UP researchers, DENR, DA, DOST and other stakeholders together to discuss how researches can be facilitated while complying with the provisions of RA 9147. There will also be discussions on the implications to researches of the recently concluded multilateral agreement called the Nagoya Protocol.

The workshop is scheduled on 18-19 July 2013, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm at CIDS, G/F Bahay ng Alumni, Magsaysay Ave., UP Diliman.
Interested faculty-researchers of UP is invited to participate on this workshop.
