e-Governance and e-Democracy in the European Union: AI Policy Lessons for the Philippines | Hybrid Lecture
The Program on Data Science for Public Policy (DSPPP) of the UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies (CIDS), together with the UP Department of Political Science, is co-hosting a lecture, “e-Governance and e-Democracy in the European Union: AI Policy Lessons for the Philippines,” on 5 November 2024, from 10:00-11:30 am (Philippine Standard Time), via Zoom and at UP CIDS, Lower Ground Floor, Ang Bahay ng Alumni, Magsaysay Ave., UP Diliman, Quezon City. The lecture is free and open to all, with slots available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Rationale
This hybrid lecture is aimed at scholars, faculty members, and administrators involved in data science advocacy for public policy making, with a particular focus on AI and digital governance. The discussion will cover AI policy principles and lessons from the European Union that may be applicable to the Philippine context.
Speaker
Professor David Ramiro Troitiño holds a Jean Monnet Chair on the Digital Development of the European Union and serves as the Deputy Director of the Jean Monnet Network on E-Governance and Digital Development. Additionally, he is a Senior Researcher on EU politics at Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia) and a European Union specialist at Turku University (Finland). His research interests include European Union integration, digital policies, and e-governance.
The event will be moderated by Jalton Garces Taguibao, Ph.D, an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of the Philippines Diliman.
