In Memoriam: Professor Maureen “Mo” Pagaduan (1952–2020)


The University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS) extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and friends of Professor Maureen “Mo” Pagaduan (1952–2020) of the UP College of Social Work and Community Development, and co-founder of the UP CIDS Program on Alternative Development (AltDev) in 2017. She passed away after a two-year struggle with pancreatic cancer.
Professor Pagaduan was a lifelong activist and champion of women’s empowerment. Her involvement with UP CIDS AltDev greatly expanded and cemented the Program’s engagement and cooperation with local communities of grassroots women’s organizations and indigenous peoples.
She will be sorely missed and remembered for her work and contributions towards the betterment of communities and of society at large.
