Rationale
This roundtable is part of the project, “Revitalizing an Urban River: The Stakeholders’ Engagement in Improving the Water Quality of the Iloilo-Batiano River Basin.” It is carried out by faculty and staff from UP Visayas working as part of the Urban Studies Program of the UP Center for Integrative Development Studies (CIDS), the policy research unit of the University of the Philippines.
The rationale of the activity is to share experience in managing urban concerns through integrative development. The discussions in the RTD are linked to the recent study tour in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan hosted by the EDUConnect Southeast Asian Association. Ten delegates from UP visited government offices and public-private partnership facilities in Kaohsiung City to gain insights into how policies are crafted in areas related to the studies funded by UP CIDS, including the Urban Studies Program.
The roundtable is also part of the celebration for the 77th anniversary of UP’s presence in Iloilo.
