Everyone is invited to the webinar entitled “Is More Power to Local Governments More Power to the People?: Elections, Devolution, and the Local Government Code Three Decades After” organized by the University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies in cooperation with the UP Diliman Task Force Nation-Building and UP Diliman Department of Political Science on Nov. 26, 2021 (Friday), 9:00 A.M – 12:00 NN via Zoom and Facebook Live.

In view of the 2021 local and national elections, the webinar reviews the 30 years under the Local Government Code and its impact on local politics and local service delivery. It will also discuss the implications of the Supreme Court’s Mandanas ruling that will increase the local governments’ share of the national taxes, starting in 2022.
