Job Opportunity @ UP CIDS: Junior Project Associate

The UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS) is seeking one (1) Junior Project Associate under a Contract of Service (CoS) with a monthly rate of PhP 46,095.6 (gross and inclusive of premium). Application deadline is 5 January 2025, 11:59 pm.

Overview

Start date is estimated to be no later than the second quarter of 2025. Exact start date will depend on the approval of the UP administration. Further details may be discussed during the interviews of shortlisted candidates.

The contract may be renewed for July to December 2025, and for every 6 months thereafter (starting January 2026 to June 2026), subject to performance and/or the need of UP CIDS.

Work will be onsite and eight hours per weekday.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Director in managing, evaluating, and monitoring the research outputs and activities of all CIDS Research Programs.
  • Assist the Editor in Chief of the Philippine Journal of Public Policy in journal-related tasks such as, but not limited to, evaluating and suggesting revisions to manuscripts, suggesting reviewers, and adjudicating between different reviews.
  • Maintain the UP CIDS Mailing List and assist in posting publicity materials on CIDS events and publications via email and social media
  • Help copyedit and proofread UP CIDS publications.
  • Perform research-, events-, and publications-related administrative tasks as assigned by the UP CIDS Executive Director, including, but not limited to, helping organize and moderate selected CIDS events; drafting letters and communications; taking minutes of meetings; generating reports on CIDS publications and activities; and helping fill out forms that will be requested by the UP administration (QMS, list of publications, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least MA units in a social science or humanities graduate program
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Familiarity with Canva and basic Adobe InDesign operations or willingness to learn these (training to be provided).
