EVENT ADVISORY: This event is postponed indefinitely. Please stand by for further announcements.
The University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS) is organizing the two-day forum series Mindanao: Fractured Promises, Continuing Challenges. The first installment of the forum series will be held on February 20, 2020 (Thursday), while the second forum will happen on March 13, 2020 (Friday). Both forums will be from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the UP CIDS Conference Hall, Lower Ground Floor, Ang Bahay ng Alumni, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.
About the Forum Series
The forum series aims to harness the research of the various UP CIDS programs conducting policy-oriented studies to examine some of the issues and concerns that define the Mindanao conundrum and arrive at recommendations addressed to the country’s decision-makers and other stakeholders.
The first forum will feature presentations on the political economy of Mindanao, agricultural value chains, ancestral domain and resource use, and the indigenous peoples’ struggle for land and education rights. The second forum will tackle political, historical, and educational issues with specific focus on the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
