"Philippine Public Policy in a Time of Pandemic: Confronting the COVID-19 Challenge" Webinar Series


In light of the current political, economic and socio-cultural crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the research programs of the University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS) have revised their activities and projects to examine the negative impact of the pandemic and to propose possible solutions to this public health crisis. The “Philippine Public Policy in a Time of Pandemic: Confronting the COVID-19 Challenge” webinar series thus aims to share to the public the findings of the research work which UP CIDS Programs have been doing with regard to the current pandemic. It also aims to solicit feedback from concerned stakeholders, government officials and agencies, affected communities, and from the general public which will feed into public policy.
To attain this objective, the webinar series is divided into four clusters covering the following topics:

  • Governance: Program on Social and Political Change (PSPC), Strategic Studies Program (SSP), Program on Data Science for Public Policy (DSPP)
  • Education: Education Research Program (ERP), Program on Higher Education Research and Policy Reform (HERPR), Assessment, Curriculum, and Technology Research Program (ACTRP)
  • Health: Program on Health Systems Development (PSHD), Islamic Studies Program (ISP), Decolonial Studies Program (DSP)
  • Development: Program on Alternative Development (AltDev), Program on Escaping the Middle-Income Trap: Chains for Change (EMIT C4C), Political Economy Program (PEP)
