In addition, the world is also seeing a more powerful China with increasing proactiveness in key aspects of international life under Xi, characterizing a new generation of Chinese leadership. Xiʼs proactive approach in the international stage is in accordance with his vision of Chinaʼs rise to the center of global economic life and in playing a bigger role in global governance. To better understand and explain China’s series of bold foreign policy moves under Xi, this study seeks to explore what the Xi administration has inherited from the previous Chinese leaderships and where it has deviated in terms of foreign policy decision-making and instruments of implementation. It goes further to explore the possible rationale behind such continuity and change. It argues that it is the interplay of both the external and internal sources of Chinaʼs foreign policy that has contributed to explaining the change and continuity in Chinaʼs foreign policy under the Xi administration.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1552539651908{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/4″ css=”.vc_custom_1552539611602{margin-bottom: 4px !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1565829974512{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Keywords[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ css=”.vc_custom_1552539659051{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_text]Foreign policy, Xi Jinping, proactiveness, change, continuity[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator border_width=”2″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator border_width=”2″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”DOWNLOAD PDF” style=”flat” color=”inverse” size=”lg” align=”center” i_icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-arrow-circle-down” add_icon=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdrive.google.com%2Ffile%2Fd%2F1tpCjk3sqO8yM-VFihkfIlh6bkIz5aAUX%2Fview||target:%20_blank|”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
