UPCIDS and FEU Public Policy Center Present: A Seminar Series Issues on the Regulation of Higher Education


The UP CIDS Higher Education Research and Policy Reform Program, in collaboration with the FEU Public Policy Center, is pleased to invite you to a seminar series exploring the pressing issues of economic regulation within higher education.

This six-part series will delve into critical aspects shaping the landscape of tertiary education in the Philippines. We are excited to announce the first three topics:

SEMINAR 1 – RATIONALE: The Economic Bases of Regulating Higher Education

SEMINAR 2 – PRICE REGULATION: CHED’s De Facto Price Cap Regulation of Private Higher Education Institutions

SEMINAR 3 – REGULATORY INDEPENDENCE AND COMPETITIVE NEUTRALITY: CHED’s (Compromised) Regulatory Independence and the (Lack of) Competitive Neutrality between Public and Private Higher Education Institutions

All seminars will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at FEU Makati.

 


This partnership with the FEU Public Policy Center stems from the ongoing research of Dr. Michael M. Alba, a Trustee of the Center. His research, conducted under the prestigious UP President Edgardo J. Angara Fellowship, commenced in 2024 and focuses on these vital aspects of higher education policy.
