Taiwan’s National Active Aging Learning Program: Developing Praxis of New Practitioners | A Lecture

The Assessment, Curriculum, and Technology Research Program (ACTRP) of the UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS) is organizing a lecture, “Taiwan’s National Active Aging Learning Program: Developing Praxis of New Practitioners,” featuring Dr. Pi-Chi Han. It will be held on 15 October 2024, 11:00 am – 12:00 noon, at the UP CIDS Conference Hall Open Space. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is first-come, first-served. Participants are encouraged to pre-register.

Abstract

As of 2024, more than 20 percent of Taiwan’s population is aged 65 or older. This significant demographic shift places Taiwan among rapidly aging societies, necessitating policies and programs that address the needs of its elderly population.

Taiwan’s National Active Aging Learning Program (NAALP) promotes lifelong learning, well-being, and social engagement for its growing aging population.

By preparing skilled practitioners, the NAALP helps them apply theoretical knowledge through reflective practice (praxis).
