Teaching Beyond Borders: Dialogues on Filipino Teacher Migration in ASEAN

This roundtable brings together key institutions—the UP College of Education, Department of Education, Department of Migrant Workers, Commission on Filipinos Overseas, and the Teacher Education Council—to discuss the migration of Filipino teachers to ASEAN countries. The dialogue will explore recruitment practices, labor protections, and the impact on education quality and equity. As part of the UPCIDS research project “Policy Pathways for Filipino Public School Teacher Migration to ASEAN: Mapping the Labor Supply Chain, Regulatory Frameworks, and Regional Protection Mechanisms,” the forum aims to generate collaborative insights and policy recommendations for the future of Filipino educators.
