Job Opportunity @ UP CIDS: Junior Project Assistant

The UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS) Program on Social and Political Change (PSPC) is looking for one (1) Junior Project Assistant under a Contract of Service (CoS), with a monthly rate of PhP 37,584.14 (inclusive of 20% premium). Application deadline is 26 April 2024. Period of work is from 01 July to 31 December 2024. Contract is open to renewal, subject to performance and/or need of PSPC.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing the framework, methodology, and data gathering instruments of research projects of PSPC
  • Gather, analyze, and validate data relevant to a given action research project
  • Write minutes of discussions, proceedings, and other reports relevant to a given action research project
  • Conduct review of literature on assigned topics/cases
  • Write preliminary findings on research projects
  • Develop and write policy briefs and conference proceedings
  • Assist in organization of events related to PSPC projects
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political science, Economics, Psychology or Geography is preferred
  • At least 1 year of work experience in research and/or public policy environment
  • Familiarity with using statistical packages, specifically Stata and R
  • Experience on doing presentations, managing projects and organizing events
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision, but also able to effectively work with a team as needed
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks efficiently
