[PUBLIC FORUM] Tracing the Roots of Feminist Ideas in Southeast Asia: The Political Economy of Gender in Indonesia and the Philippines
How did earlier generations of feminists in Southeast Asia understand gender, development, and power? What can we learn from their intellectual legacies amid the issues confronting the region today?
Join us as we regenerate the intellectual contributions of Pudjiwati Sajogyo and Filipino scholars in the political economy of gender. Featuring scholars from Indonesia and Philippines, the forum will trace the historical roots of feminist thought in both countries, explore common threads and differences in their work, and critically reflect on their continuing relevance to contemporary issues confronting the region, feminist scholarship and movements.
